I found mention of Cardinal Sean’s blog in our diocesan newspaper(Eastern Oklahoma Catholic). It was wonderful to see the pictures and comments. I have been to Rome several times , but had not seen these places. we are trying to get our Church of St Mary updated to be on the web and send news on the internet. My family will be praying for Kate Elizabeth Lambert.
I am sure that many people will be praying for her. She has
a rare form of liver cancer and needs many prayers. I am sure
our Lord will help that little girl. My wife,Emma,and I enjoyed

It was a true blessing to find your site and enjoy a beautiful heartfelt spiritual walk through the vatican.
I was there in May , but Unfortunatley due to a friends fall on the steps had to leave after one day.
I was so disappointed , after travelling all the way from Australia and looking forward to praying at John Paul 11,s grave. I had daydreamed about this trip for two year before it became a reality, but then a huge sacrifice to leave.
So I feel this site has been a gift for me,, as I just love Rome so much,, but have never had the opportunity to spend enough time there.

Robert Deeley,
I am a parishoner at St. Brigid in Lexington and last saw you at the wake of Msgr. Kielty. I was a former vice chair of the parsh council under Eugene Curtin.
Would you please remember in you prayers our seven month old granddaughter who has liver cancer and is at Children’s Hospital in Boston. She was diagnosed three weeks ago. Her name is Kate Elizabeth Lambert. She has an extremely rare form of liver cancer called rhabdoid. There is no known treatment and only 17 diagnosed cases since 1972 in this country.
We need a miracle and you are in the place of miracles and holy people. Please have her prayed for .

In your opinion, what place has the best gelati in Rome? My husband and I recently spent our honeymoon in Rome and we liked Cafe Della Palma (near the Pantheon & Gesu) the most scrumptious.

What a wonderful piece of fresh fruit from the Divine in sharing this gift of surprise! Your Eminence, it is very pleasing to see all of the lovely photographs and to read the thoughts expressed. It was a nice ‘Padre Pio surprise’ to see you went to Rome in Celebrating the Mass of St. Pio!

I sent you a book St. Padre Pio Man of Hope, along with His Holy oil and you both have been a Blessing, thru the Grace of God, Our Lady and Her Son, Jesus.

I have just discovered your blog and would like to thank you for taking the time to share with us your journey. I love the photos and all the commentary and look forward to review the previous posts. It was so great to see Father Albert Colleta being remembered. I have vivid meories of his cheerful smiling face even today. I was a visitor at St. Fiacre’s Friary in Leichhardt in the early 60′s when he was still there. Thanks for the memories. Brother Felix

Hello Cardinal Sean….the insiders tour of the Vatican is a great addition…who would think of an ATM with Latin directions!!!!
Also seeing the “ordinary” sites such as post office, pharmacy,infirmary etc, gives a very real look at daily life in a city often thought of as “out of this world”.
My sister Jacqueline’s birthday was October 1…she would be 42 this year…please pray for her eternal rest and her three children
still living…Kelly Marie(16),Tommy(14) and Micheal(11)…..

I loved the little tour and photos of Vatican City�I never knew it was an independent country.

Military Bloggers have what is called a “MilBlog” Conference in Washington, D.C. every year. Thousands come from all over America to attend.

I have put a bug in the ear of the Franciscan University of Steubenville to put together a “CathBlog” Convention there sometime in 2007.

Any gueses as to whom I would like to see as the Keynote Speaker?

This a wonderful idea and a fruitful way to connect the faithful with the heart of the Church. The photos are excellent and the commentary is fascinating.

I’d especially like to thank Msgr. Deeley for his reflections on our new Holy Father, Benedict XVI. I began reading his books after his election because I had been so inspired by his homilies at John Paul’s funeral and his installation.( I hadn’t ever read a thing about theology in my life!) This has really opened my eyes to the beauty and mystery of our faith. God bless Benedict and you both as you continue your work in the vinyards.

Our Fr Albert Colletta OFM Cap (RIP) was from Quincy. He worked very hard for many years in Australia amongst the Italian migrants both in the city and in our parishes in the country. The first Capuchins coming to Australia after WWII were from New Jersey we will always be greatful

i will definitely check out the new expanded web site at The Boston Pilot . . . i do not live in the Boston area . . but back in 1962 and 63 i attended Saint Francis Seraphic Seminary in Andover and have the most nostalgically happy memories of that Franciscan school (and recall hearing Cardinal Cushing at that time speak of his experiences at the Second Vatican Council at that time) . . . so my visits to the new web-site will also probably be fueled by a bit of nostalgia of thoughts of “Old River Road” in “Lowell/Andover”
