Your Eminence,
We should all be so lucky to have a bishop that does so much to reach out to everyone. John Paul II descirbes how he made home visits to families in his diocese as a bishop in "Rise, let us be on our way." While times have changed, I think most of us (Catholics) welcome this new method of Church leaders involvement in our daily lives. Maybe you could give a blogging class at the next USCCB meeting to get more bishops involved :)

Hi Cardinal Sean....Happy Advent. This Friday is a most beloved Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Often I hear people confusing this Feast Day with the Annunciation which is March 25. Perhaps you would like to do a little teaching about these very significant and separate events in the life of Mary?
Thanks,Julia Russell

ohhhh you saved the best for last!!! that IS a tiny ship!! I am sure you probably got the best shot of Plymouth Rock that you could, but it left me longing to see more. I saw DESPERATE CROSSING and wonder how many of these would be eligible for canonization had they been Catholic. they sure seemed like saints back then, so eager that people know of God and His Love.

Your Eminence Cardinal Sean,

Thank you once again for an informative and spiritually enriching message on Thanksgiving and the Advent season we now celebrate.

Thank you very much for responding to my questions of your "favorites" - I'm going to get some of the authors you recommend as a Christmas present to myself to start the New Year off.

God speed in all you do for others.

After long and difficult prayer and meditation I believe I see the wisdom of the path you have chosen. You are a great gift of God's providence. Thank you for your life.
I had to lol at the little boy in the blue plaid shirt in the pics from the parish in Plymouth. No offense, Cardinal Sean, but he looks like he's seeing a ghost :) Very cute.
When the Pope said in Turkey last wk that what the Church has to offer is Christ, I thought of this blog. You've found another way to 'offer Christ' to the skeptical people of this age. Thank you!

I am a sophmore at Emmanuel College and I would just like to thank you for attending Mass tonight. You really have an impact here in Boston, and especially to the Catholic worshippers here at Emmanuel and all the colleges in Boston. Also, I would also like to thank you for performing Confirmations in May for students in RCIA, because I am going to be Confirmed by you this coming April. I am very excited and I am looking forward to it immensely.

Dear Cardinal Sean,
Thank you so much for visiting St. Mary Parish in Plymouth. We are fortunate to be living in America's Home Town--"where it all began".
Your blog is truly inspiring & so varied as well.
I am very disappointed that Holy Trinity Church is to be closed. My husband's family were early parishioners of this church, and my husband also attended grammar school there, so we have many happy memories--especially at this time of year when traditional German celebrations take place.
God bless you always--Vivian Hinderscheid

Dear Cardinal Sean,

Your words about the immigrants -- from the Pilgrims of 1620 the Brazillians of Plymouth today -- resonate:

"That energy of immigrants is one of the things that has made America such a great country because the people who do come tend to be the people that are the most adventuresome and most courageous. They bring that work ethic and dedication to this country."

Too many of our fellow citizens who were lucky enough to be born in the land of the free and the home of the brave have become mentally fat and lazy, taking for granted the spiritual as well as the material advantages of this "Shining City Upon a Hill."

If you haven't seen it, I do recommend you try to watch The History Channel's profoundly moving "Desperate Crossing: The Untold Story of the Mayflower":

I have been reading your "blog" since I discovered it accidentally and must say that I thoroughly enjoy it. I love to read the descriptions of your trips, the Masses you celebrate and to see the pictures of yourself and others at the Mass. You are truly a very warm, loving person and an exceptional priest. Your diocese is very fortunate to have you as their leader. God bless you in the work you do so lovingly in His name.

Thank you, Eminence, for the interesting background information about the Holy Father's recent pilgrimage. It certainly fills out the precious little that's been in the secular media!

I appreciate too your words on the freedom of religion and the separation of church and state. I was brought up as a "post-Christian" secularist, and was taught that the separation was to protect public discourse from religious influence. More and more I realize that the true purpose of the separation is to protect the practice of religion from coercion from the world! At least, that is, from the world that Christ would not pray for, and that he foretold would hate us, his disciples.
