Cardinal Sean
Our gratitude and prayers are with you.
Thank you for your shepherding counsel to Catholics who vote for candidates that promulgate the horrific dismemberment and death of the innocent preborn children in the womb.
As a nurse, I reflect on this phrase often. I believe it's from the Pro Life March in Wash., D.C. in Jan.2003 -
"We were all weak once, and we will all be weak again, when we will rely on others to show us our dignity."
God bless you, Cardinal Sean!

Cardinal Sean
A letter writter in the Saturday Globe Nov 17th was your typical pro-abort with her comments "What part of the seperation of church and state doesn't the Cardinal understand?" Also saying "the Cardinal should keep his opinions to himself!" Well Cardinal I disagree because the unborn need us to speak up for them and you have every right to use the public forum to do so. I am a STAUNCH defender of you when letters like that appear in the Globe Cardinal.

The Nov 15 article in the Globe quoting their interview with you about the Democrats & their support for legal abortion (or as the media insist on calling it, "abortion rights") contains the following line, in the fifth paragraph:

"However, when I challenge people about this, they say, 'Well, bishop, we're not supporting [abortion rights],' " he said.

I would love to know what words you actually used that are replaced in brackets by 'abortion rights.'

By the way, last night I attended the debut in Baltimore of a new documentary about Sargent Shriver, a Democrat & a Catholic of a different temper to today's leaders of the party. His son Tim was there & said that his dad (now 92 & suffering from Alzheimer's) has been a daily communicant all his life.

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place - I couldn't figure out where simply to leave a comment not related to an already-existing topic.

Hi Cardinal Sean! I saw your comments in the Globe today about how Catholics supporting Democrats "borders on scandal."

I just want to be clear: what level of scandal does it border upon? Is it "priests molesting children" scandalous, or "the archdiocese allowing and facilitating child molestation" scandalous?

Thanks for your help!

Cardinal Sean -- I don't know how you manage to keep the schedule you do! You are truly a blessing to the Church. May the Lord continue to you reward you with good health and enduring stamina.

Cardinal Sean, A couple of years ago in the month of Dec.
my wife and I visited the retired priests at the Campion
Center in Weston. Some friends of ours put on a show
for the retired Jesuits. It was made up of some well known
retired politicians and some lesser known but no less
talented people. The elderly fathers loved it as an oldtime
vaudeville show. Rick Flavin, Bill Bulger,Kevin White, Dick
Campana etc. really made their Christmas Show for the
elderly priests a wonderful evening. We enjoyed it and the
Priests told me they did also. John Riley,M.A.,M.Div.
