Dear Cardinal,

May the Lord bless you and keep you filled with hope and joy. This Advent season, I am encourged at your words about the Capuchins. I like how you emphasied the importance of Christ’s kenosis and also the importance of keep the continution and the regulation intact and airtight. Great expression of how we shall keep the truth of the gospel as well. May the Lord show you his kindness. Thank you for your inspiration.

I am so happy to see a move to more traditional vestments and to a more traditional altar arrangement (6 Traditional candlesticks and an altar cross) by the Holy Father. I hope that the Boston archdiocese will follow the Pope's lead and begin a wholesale return to the Traditions which were taken away from us in the 1970's. Let us work to retore the beautiful altar rails to our churches, that we may once again kneel to receive our Lord in humility. Let us once again orient our altars to the East, that the priest may lead us together in the worship of our God, facing the same direction as the People he leads. Let us once again worship in Latin, the language that nourished the saints for 1500 years. Let us freely offer again the Traditional Latin Mass, that we might seek and save that which was lost and those who were lost by the turmoil in the Church over the last 40 years.

The Holy Father is leading the Church back onto the path of Tradition, after 40 years of wandering in the desert of Innovation and Change. We all have a deep spiritual hunger for the Tradition of the Church, for in this Tradition we maintain Communion with the Saints who have gone before us and with the God who guided the development of this Tradition over 2000 years. Please, Cardinal Sean, support this re-embracing of our Tradition, by your leadership, by your example, and by the priorities you set for the parishes. I firmly believe that the Church will flourish once it allows Tradition to flourish.

God bless you, Cardinal Sean.

Querido Padre Sean: We thank you and thank God for all that you are and all that you do in shepherding us to Christ to that abundant life of love, friendship, service and holiness that only He, who is all that, pour into our hearts so we could show the world who He really is. Heaven and Earth are full of His Glory indeed and His Saints and Martyrs are accompanying us in this journey of faith to Christ while you as His servant, are leading us to Him from far away places around the world.

Happy Bicentennial! We start this Advent with joy and thanksgiving participating in two Masses! One in our parish and one with all of you in Boston thanks to BCTV. We are very happy praying together with all of you in union with the Holy Trinity and with our Blessed Mother. Your homily was very inspiring. It reveals our Lord and what our Lord does in people lives. He really is in the business of making us His Saints and servants just like those two holy priests living in Boston 200 hundred years ago, we now have many others like them, like you, a simple holy Capuchin priest who like those in our parishes and our countries, are still passionate for Christ leading us to Christ to the same life of holiness that is Him for each one of us His people and we praise Him for that because He is the Bread of Life that we received from our priests every time we go to Mass. Happy Bicentennial!

Dear Cardinal Sean,
Thank you for serving God and his people. I am grateful for this blog and for all the beautiful pictures included, especially those of the seminarians (My little ones whom God gave me to pray for everyday): Riley Williams, seminarian, Fr. Jay Mello, newly ordained priest, and Mr. Rev. Ron Floyd, Newly ordained Deacon of the Fall River Diocese. I like the ideas that you shared with us about the 2010 Catholic school system in progress in the Boston D iocese. The pictures of all the cardinales and the pope were wonderful, too. I also have fond memories of the announcement when you were to becmme our Cardinal and of your installation. We thank God for you daily. Cardinal Sean, I hope to always be your spiritual cheer leader before the throne of God. I lift my heart in prayer, daily for all those of you who are in love with Jesus and Mary and are willing to give so much of yourselves to serve our God. Please, remember me in your prayers so that I, too, will remain forever faithful to the rule that you have requested me to write and which I continue to live, with your encouragement and that of my Bishop, George W. Coleman of the Fall River Diocese.
Love, through the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,

Dear Cardinal Sean-

Your comments on the Constitution really hit home.

It appears that as modern-day Franciscans we seem to worship creation more than we to the Creator. Contemplation has been moved to the back burner to embrace what appears to be more like New Age exercises.

Likewise, when I visit our grand, awe-inspiring convent, I am reminded of the late Fr. Faracy's comment: "If this is how they practice poverty, I would hate to think of how they practice celibacy!" Remembering the writings of Leo, Rufino, and Angelo, "If at any time the brothers abandon their small, poor dwellings because somwone has offered them something more spacious and comfortable, they thereby give the worst kind of scandalous example."

We need your leadership, dear Cardinal.

I just wanted to make a comment about the cardinal deacons wearing dalmatics. That used to be a common view when the Pope celebreted mass before the Liturgical changes, also during Pope Benedict's Christmas 2005 Urbi et Orbi address he had 2 cardinal deacons flanking him with dalmatics and mitre.
