It seems shocking that such a keen and joyful young priest should die so unexpexctedly. It it tempting to say "what a waste", but God surely knows best, and He will surely bring about His good will to many because of Fr Dan.

Your Eminence,

I am deeply saddened at the passing of Fr. Dan Kennedy. As a Catholic TV viewer, I watched him at his Deacon Ordination and then his Priesthood Ordination. I pray his family will pray to him to help them get through their grief to a place of peace. So young, so accomplished, so full of Christ's love that he obviously passed on to all whom he came in contact. The Great Cardinal Cushing certainly welcomed him in his arms.

Yours in Prayer,
Mary O'Brien

Dear Cardinal Seán,
All priests should get a yearly physical check up. But probably Father Dan had done his share of the work. Jesus Christ was young too when He had to leave Earth.

I think it is a struggle for Sister Olga knowing herself being an Iraqi by birth and being adopted by Americans. I hope this meaningless war would end. People do not have to die for no good reason. If Obama is elected, please tell him to stop the fighting. If Clinton is elected, please tell her to bring the soldiers home.

Best regards.

Querido Padre Sean. We are very sad for the departure of two of your priests. We are praying for all of you and all of us who are affected by their passing. Being today the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, we are strengthening each other in our faith by He who has overcome death and gather us in His Temple in the celebration of the Eucharist where we get our nourishment to accept His holy will always because His love endures forever and in Him, we all live because He is the everlasting life.
We thank Him for everything always and thank God for you Padre Sean and for many others like you, who have consecrated themselves to serve Him and love Him by serving us faithfully like those in the Mass this morning, thanks to BCTV, of the Transitional Deacons that fill our hearts with gratitude. May we all find consolation in the love of our Lord and the love that we express for Him for each other

Dear Cardinal Sean,

I want to let you know that my prayers and thoughts are with you this week. I am sure that it is always a sadness that fills your heart when you celebrate the funeral of a priest, but this funeral of Fr. Kennedy, must have been extrememely emotional. I personally know that you have been a great sheperd and mentor to our young priests and you have grown to know and love them as if they were your sons and you their father. I can only imagine the grief a parent embraces as they lose a child, and I believe that you are feeling this same grief. God Bless You and Thank you for all you do for the young priests of Boston. Joanne Worthley

Wow - what a week of contrasts! The pilgrimage to Peru so inspiring, the death of Fr. Dan so shocking, and the reflection of Sister Olga so deeply motivating. Thank you, thank you, thank you are the only words I can say at this time.

Peace and blessings!
