Thank you Fr. Mark for sharing your thoughts on the theology of priesthood. I’d be interested to hear from you, as I hope others would as well, how you’re enjoying your ministry–the people you currently serve in Quincy, who share in the priesthood of Christ.

Hello,
I haven’t had the chance to read the blog as often as I used to or as often as I would like, but when I get a chance to get “caught up” I am in awe of what I read. This reflection brought me to tears and it amazes me that such a new priest realizes what it is he was called to do. I have always wondered whether someone would come along who absolutely loves being a priest and it is now that I know that there are great men and even greater priests out there if you look. I wish I was part of Father Barrs parish to see his adoration for the Lord and for His people but it will always be a wish. Thank-you for this reflection Father it helped me with my faith by making me realize that priests are not perfect, as you said “This is what it means for me to be a priest, to make the invisible God visible through my life, and to make the sublime perfection of Christ known through my own numerous failings.” Thank-you again Father and thank-you Cardinal Sean for allowing him to share this reflection. Congratulations! I am happy for you, Tamaru, and Bill. Reading your reflection after being a priest for a “month and many days” inspires me to welcome my last year at St. John’s Seminary. The journey you have been through affirms many of what you have said, the thought of Christ’s grace present to a priest is manifested through action out of his love for God’s holy people. Thank you so much and I am hoping to see you, Tamaru, and Bill soon.
