Dear Cardinal O'Malley,

We will be watching anxiously to see how Sen. Ted Kennedy's funeral services will be conducted. His years' long record of pro-abortion support is cemented in history. We pray that the Church will use the upcoming worldwide stage to confirm its unconditional stance against this holocost of the unborn. Our prayers are with you.

My condolesences for the loss of Eunice Shriver. My comment is regarding your contact with Cuba in an effort to restablish relations and end the embargo. I am pleased that the Catholic Church is taking an active role on this matter. I am actively seeking a prisoner exchange to free the Cuban 5 and all prisoners of conscience in Cuba. Did the meeting cover efforts to reach an agreement to free the Cuban 5?
I have been writing to Cardinal Mahony to please intercede on behalf of the Cuban 5. I am Cuban American, came to the US as a child of 12 in 1960 and I found their trial troublesome and reminiscent of the tribunals in Cuba after the revolution.

Cardinal Sean!

This is the first time I have visited your blog. Interesting things you are doing as a Cardinal. I am a cradle Catholic that grew up in the state of Vermont and have been in California for 41 years. It is interesting to see the churches in the Eastern Part of the US. Most of the churches are the area that I live in are in the round and plain. I live near the capitol of Caliofrnia and active in a very large parish. Over 3,000 familes. I ave been involved with RCIA for many years and it keeps me on my toes

Cardinal Sean: Very nice post on Mrs. Shriver. FYI, regarding the Mass you said at the Shrivers years ago with Cesar Chavez and the farmworkers: the big Washington Post article on that Mass is framed and hanging on the wall just outside of Maria Shriver's First Lady's Office in the Governor's Office at the State Capitol. It was a gift to Arnold and Maria from Arturo Rodriguez, who succeeded Cesar as president of the United farm Workers, as a reminder of the family's ties to the farm workers and an encouragement to Arnold to do what he can as governor to help. (He has done far more for farmworkers than any other Republican governor ever did, but there is still much more than can be done to help them.)
