Hello Cardinal Sean: I am a 67 year old Catholic woman living in Plymouth. While I can emphasize with the problems in Haiti, I wonder why senior citizens in this state are left with so little money to live on. Why can't some of those millions be given to the people here in our country. After paying bills and utilities, etc. I am usually left with about $200 a month to live on and to buy food and gas. Is there any way the Catholic Church can help people like me? I am in the process of writing to our politicians, but after hearing about the millions going to Haiti, I needed to write. Thank you for listening.

Dear Cardinal Sean,

This weeks blog was very interesting. That is very generous of the Catholic Relief Services to give Haiti $2,000,000. I hope you enjoyed your time visiting Rome. The pictures were amazing. Can't wait for your next blog!

Dear Cardinal Sean,

I am very happy to hear about the 2 million dollars going to Haiti. The pictures of Rome looked beautiful and I couldn't believe there was snow! I was proud to see all the people going to mass on ash wednesday even though it was during vacation. Your blog this week was interesting to read and I can't wait until next time!

Dear Cardinal Seán,

The earthquake in Haiti was such a tragedy, so it's amazing that everyone is able to respond so openly to the condition of the Haitian population at this time. Two million dollars is an incredible feat!

We certainly do get our share of snow in Boston. (And I hear that more of it is on the way!) I was shocked to hear that it hadn't snowed in Rome since 1986 - it must have been nice, though, to see such a beautiful city topped with a fresh layer of snow.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get to Mass last Wednesday for Ash Wednesday, but I have learned a lot about the importance of the ashes. It's a wonderful Catholic tradition, and I hope I'll be able to receive ashes next year.

Thanks again for a great blog!

Dear Cardinal Sean,

It is wonderful to hear that the Catholic Relief Services will most likely raise $2,000,000 for aid to the Haitian people! Our school has also played its part in helping the people of Haiti. We raised a lot of money and collected a huge amount of shoes. I loved reading about your time in Rome and you were lucky to see snow in Rome since it hadn't snowed there since 1986! I always love reading your blog!

Thank you,

Dear Cardinal Sean,

I want to start by saying that 2 milion dollars for Haiti is amazing! We had a shoe drive at our school for Haiti and we collected 250 pairs of gently used shoes to go to the people in Haiti from just our school. We also had a dress drown day and raised over 1,000 dollars for Haiti with everyone in the school bringing in two dollars. It just proves that if everyone helps out we can help Haiti in their time of need.

Thank You,

Dear Cardinal Sean,
Wow 2 million dollars! It is such a wonderful thing that everyone has joined together and donated money to Haiti! It is great to read more about your time in Rome, the relics of St. Bernadette were really beautiful. You were very lucky to witness snow in Rome since it has not snowed there in so long. The video you posted on confession was very moving and inspiring, I enjoyed being informed of the importance of confession and how it is necessary in our faith.
