What a wonderful ceremony! I am so happy that I traveled from Minnesota to be present. It was a splendid day from the beautiful weather, to the police escort to and from the Cathedral(!), to the impressive procession into the Cathedral, to the wonderful liturgy, to the great homily and to the heartfelt talks by each of the new bishops. You have gained two wonderful Bishops, and I am proud to know at least one of them!

Carol, I take it that the remarks of our Cardinal were not intended to be hurtful in anyway. What astounds me is the complete lack of respect shown for Sean Cardinal in your post. Your written words display tremendous animosity not only towards Sean Cardinal, but to all of our hard-working clergy. I pray that you will open your heart and come to understand the deep and many sacrifices of the clergy on our behalf.

I'm sure that Cardinal Seán's remark about villains dressed as nuns with machine guns robbing banks was a joke. Those in attendance probably had a good laugh. It's too bad you took it seriously.

Cardinal Sean – I cannot express how ignorant and hurtful your comment about Charlestown is..”.I told the people that I had been assured by Father Ronan that there would be no villains dressed as nuns with machine guns robbing banks during my visit to Charlestown” Are you saying that this town is dangerous? That we are all bank robbers? Am I to understand that you do not feel safe coming to the town I was born, rasied and still reside in? This town is filled with wonderful hard working people who are very proud to be from Charlestown. It is a neighborhood filled with kind and loving people who are committed to one another and committed to making this an even better place to live. Your comments turn the clock back 20 -30 years. While the basis of the film to which are referring is
somewhat true, clearly you do not know fact from fiction. There are far more decent, honest and hardworking folks here then not. These are the same “working class people” who’s hard earned money line your collection plates. I would ask that you be more respectful for those of us who actually work for a living
